Many people wonder if, when arranging a funeral, they’re bound to the funeral director listed on their insurance policy. The answer is: no. You’re always free to choose who you want to arrange the funeral. However, it’s good to know that insurers work with different types of policies, some of which have specific conditions attached to life insurance Netherlands.
Kapitaalverzekering
With a capital insurance policy, a fixed sum of money is paid out to the surviving family after a person’s death. This amount can then be used freely for funeral arrangements. You decide how the money is used and who will conduct the funeral, as part of your life insurance Netherlands plan.
Naturaverzekering
Een naturaverzekering werkt anders: hierbij keert de verzekeraar geen geldbedrag uit, maar een pakket aan standaarddiensten en materialen. Denk hierbij aan een basisuitvoering van zaken zoals de kist, het vervoer en de rouwkaarten. Wilt u een persoonlijkere of uitgebreidere invulling, dan kan dit uiteraard, maar vaak betekent dit dat er extra kosten bijkomen.
Vrije keuze
Even with an in-kind insurance policy, you’re not obligated to have the insurer arrange the funeral. When you choose Omnis Memoria, you’ll usually receive a sum equal to the insurance package, which we’ll use to tailor the funeral to your wishes. This gives you the freedom to choose a farewell that suits you and your loved one, as covered by your life insurance Netherlands.
